Kristalyn & Joe of Denver, CO
Married September 30, 2006 • Telluride, Colorado

As I started to walk down the isle to take my vows, I stepped onto a weather rustic deck and the scenery immediately took my breath away! All I could see is a brilliant blue sky, white snowcapped mountains, along with a golden glow of fall colors. This combined with close friends and family watching every step I took created a breathtaking memory I will always cherish.

THE DETAILS
How long to plan the wedding: Six (6) months
Number of guests: 108
Budget: $35,000
Venue: Gorrono Ranch, Telluride Ski Resort

The Theme/Décor
Mountain elegance.

The Flowers
Orchids, roses and lilies in an array of bright colors.

The Food
Guest had dinner choices of Beef Tenderloin, Rocky Mt Trout or a Vegetarian Risotto. Champagne, Wines, Colorado Beers and non-alcohol beverages.

The Cake
Three tier chocolate cake filled with chocolate mouse coved with a cream color fondant. Lightly decorated with light sage green fresh roses.  Old Fashion glass cookie jars filled red licorice sticks, gummy bears and a variety of big cookies: peanut butter, chocolate chip, oatmeal-raisin and molasses.

The Favors
Each guest received a welcome bag filled with a variety of items as they arrived to the invited Meet and Greet Event on Friday evening prior to the wedding day.

Each guest received a silver cased vanity candles wrapped in white lace with metal thank you tag at the wedding ceremony.

SPECIAL TOUCHES
Rather than a unity candle, we each placed a long stemmed sunflower in a beautiful elongated unity vase to symbolize our coming together

My brother stood up along side me as the bride’s best man.

We took our first dance outside after pictures prior to going inside for dinner.

Rather than guest table numbers, wedding guests were assigned seating at tables named after one of many of Colorado’s 14,000 foot Peaks,.

During the mother & son dance, I quietly changed into a second beautiful long “red” dress and we had a second first dance.

To liven up the mood on the dance floor, a box of fun hats, glasses, and costume accessories were distributed to guests to enjoy.

At the end of the evening, guests were given big sparklers to pave the way as we departed back down the mountain.

We had our Rehearsal Dinner on Thursday evening, thus allowing all our guests an invitation to a Meet & Greet event on Friday evening at the Mountain Lodge at Telluride.  All guests were invited to stay at the Mountain Lodge to keep the festivities within close proximity.

Each guest was invited to attend a good by and thank you breakfast at the groom’s parents cabin on Sunday prior to leaving Telluride.

My Advice
Relax and enjoy your special day.  In the end, everything works out perfectly.

HONEYMOON LOCATION
Telluride! We stayed on an additional week to relax and enjoy the scenery.
