COLORADO STYLE!
Mother nature has blessed us with spectacular scenery at every corner so it’s no wonder everyone here is tying-the-knot outdoors. Under blue skies, with cool crisp mountain air, singing birds, and the occasional squirrel or deer checking out your celebration, a ceremony al fresco is a magical and enchanting experience. Here are a few ideas to make it even more special.
1. Write your own personalized vows that truly express your feelings for one another.
2. Distribute tissue pouches to your guests before the ceremony for their tears of joy.
3. Walk down the aisle (the recessional) to the same song as your mother did. This is a nice tribute to your parents and can be a real sentimental "tear jerker".
4. Walk down the aisle to your favorite rock ballad or to your fathers favorite song.
5. Use the unity sand ceremony instead of the unity candle. Candles tend to blow-out in outdoor ceremonies, especially at higher elevations, so brides are substituting sand. With three vases and two colors of sand, the colors are combined in one vase to symbolize the unity.
6. The bride and groom exchange two red roses, symbolizing the giving and receiving of their love for each other throughout their entire married life. The Rose Ceremony also conveys how to use the rose and its symbolism in difficult times in order to forgive each other.
7. Give each guest a flower and instruct them to toss the flowers in the air when you are declared husband and wife.
8. To honor those who have moved on, leave an empty seat and place a flower in remembrance of the person.
9. Stand and face your guests during the ceremony or have your guests gather around you in a circle.
10. As a surprise during the ceremony, have a special musical piece played for your new hubby.
11. Give each guest a bell tied with ribbon to ring in celebration as you and your new spouse walk back down the aisle.
12. Hold your ceremony at night around a campfire or under a full moon.
