Colorado couples love their dogs, considered a bona fide family member, it's only natural to include them in your wedding day plans. With the majority of Colorado weddings taking place outdoors, your four-legged family friends are not only welcome but usually an official member of the wedding party.
The easiest duty given to dogs is that of ring bearer. With a silk or velvet pillow tied around his neck, and the ring placed securely atop the pillow, your dog can be just as cute as your two year old nephew. If you have two dogs in the ceremony, one can act as ring bearer while the other acts as the flower girl (carrying a bouquet of flowers in his/her mouth).
Another fun idea, add your dog to your processional, he can walk down the aisle with one of the bridesmaids. During the recessional, have him follow behind carrying a sign that reads "Just Married."
Before ordering that special doggie tux or gown
consider this:
1. Does your ceremony & reception location permit dogs?
2. How does your dog react to crowds?
3. Could his barking and excitability disturb the ceremony?
4. Can he sit through your ceremony quietly?
5. When called upon will he deliver the rings?
6. If he sees a squirrel in a distant tree will he stay put or take-off
with your rings?

Have a designated leash-holder for the duration of the
ceremony.
Designate a (very) good friend for clean-up duty.
Don't forget a water bowl and plenty of doggie treats.
Dogs may not perform perfectly but the smile a familiar face can bring to your special day is priceless!
Ideas...
"My fiance and I want to incorporate our puppy into our wedding. So, we are going to get her a dress that matches our color scheme, along with a pretty collar and lead. When the wedding comes around, we are going to have her lead down the aisle by the maid of honor and the best man, so our little puppy can be included in our special day too."
"My fiance and I have 4 labs, 2 females and 2 males. The two males are yellow, they will be the groomsmen. The two females are black, they are going to be the maids of honor. It should be interesting."
